Where can i get a V6 diff?

Post by fastvitara »

G'day people, my diff has just given up on me the other day. I have a '98 V6 estate wagon, 2.0l 5spd. This is the squareish looking one.
The rear diff just shat itself and i need to replace it as soon as possible.

I've tried calling most wreckers in melbourne and no one has one, so thought you guys may be able to help!

My diff is a 4.6ratio, not the 4.3, or the 5.1. If i cant track one down in melb, then i guess i have to go interstate.

any advice, help is appreciated.

Do you have starndard size tyres?
If not, consider changing both diffs to 5.125:1 ratio's, much easier to get than 4.6 and you will get some gearing back as well.
Peter.
Ps I will buy your old front diff

Try Dion at Susuki Carbusters, 3-556 Geelong Rd, Brooklyn 9318 9400. He had some 10 & 12 bolt 4.6 diffs the other week. Can't remember how much but I thought they were reasonable at the time.
