leaking oil any help hj75 2h
Hi new to 4wd's diesels and turbos, just bought a hj 75 2h, had no oil leaks at the time but magically 2 weeks later now it does from the front left wheel, could anyone tell me what seal may need replacing or what the problem could be, i just downloaded the workshop manual and am not working at the moment so thought i'd try fix whatever the problem is myself, and if theres and tips or if its a prick of a job should i take it to a mechanic thanks pictures should hopefully be below

Inner axle seal leaking gear oil into the swivel housing and past the wiper seals.
You need to put a swivel housing kit through it, kit does both sides. I'd do wheel bearings while you're at it since you don't know the history of them. Have a read of your manual to see if you want to tackle it. It's not rocket science but can prove taxing depending on how mechanically minded you are.

Looks like your inner axle seal has gone depending on when they were last done you may need a full swivel hub kit and to repack your bearings
possibly on such a old truck you may need to speedy sleeve the axle seal area to stop this happening again
this is a big job possibly 8 hours work depending on your skill level because there is no point in doing just one side you need to do both and also repack all your wheel bearings
if you were to pay for the jo b to be done allow 800-1000 to do it properly

all out need to clean up the old grease a bit then put it back together in the morning, that guide on the hilux recommends using CV joint grease even on the wheel bearings, anyone have another opionion on that? the guy at the shop said its not such a great idea because on the highway it will get too warm for the grease
