Plastic plug/toggle things

Hi,

In order to properly fit the rear flares on the maverick, I need a big handful of these plastic plugs.

They push into a 10mm x 10mm (roughly) square hole in the mudguard lip, and have a hole in them that takes a self-tapping style screw.

As the screw is done up, it spreads the plug a little so that it can't come out again until the screw is undone.

They have them in those Champion "Handy Packs" but it's two to a pack and about $3 a pack, which means I am looking at $35 or so when I really think I should be looking at about five bucks at the most.

Anyone know where to get this kind of stuff? Surely they are available in some way other than a 2-piece blister pack?

Jason

Do you have Universal Fasteners stores over your way? They should have something like that- or any other store that specialises in screws, bolts etc.

I would also try a good auto paint shop that has a line of panel beaters consumables, or try a panel beater.

Prolly sounds expensive Jason, Nissan may have them as a spare part but are prolly about $45.00 for the full kit...

...or spend a bit of time at your local wreckers... ;)

Nice roofrack too by the way, looks great!!!

Also could try a Motor Trimmer, they should stock all kinds of various clips, plugs etc etc for vehicles, and may have what you need.
