Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I see a lot of diff protectors round for rovers, and have been on a couple of trips where some silicon has been needed to get them home ok.

I've been meaning to get around to making one for the cruiser.

BUT - I don't see many round for cruisers. And I don't remember a cruiser cutting open a front diff when rock and crownwheel where combined (comps excepted)

Is there a reason the two would be different? Rovers softer or thinner? Or I've just been lucky?

The Hilux ones sold by Locktup will fit an 80 front diff I have just put one on mine. Not sure if its needed or not but imo for the small cost better safe than sorry.

I think the rover diff covers are actually thinner but the toy ones are not that much thicker.

Snake make a decent one for the toy axle, Locktup and Trail gear also make some decent armor.

Failing that as you say, make your own.

Simple answer is the sewer cap on a Rover is thin as buggery.

i have the locktup one on my 80x front housing. The bonus is that they come with a set of Hex key drain plugs to replace the big nut plugs that you can never get out after the protection ring has been munted and folded over the top of it.
