ok i topped up the cooling system on the Mav and tried to fit in 15litres of coolant but only could fit 9 or 10 at the most!
i read somewhere on the interweb (so yeh its gotta be true) that if the get the front end up on a climb that all the air should bleed to the radiator hence being able to put more coolant in!
now what im needing to know please, is there a sure way to bleed the air out?
i know there's a plug at the rear to flush out old coolant but im pretty sure filling it would not be the same!
maybe im being a bit paranoid but i don't want to crack another head and Ive read several times that this can be a cause of it!

cheers!

got a piece of tube about a foot long welded it on an old radiator cap and welded a milo tin to it hole in the cap and the tin , cut a piece of rubber to seal the cap works a treat.

so did you pull that plug out at the back of the motor to drain all the water out of the motor ?

cause if you didnt thats where the other 5 to 6 liters of coolant is

I've found you can remove one of the hoses from the top of the thermostat housing and the water level will drop in the radiator allowing you to fill more in. Just keep filling till it flows out the hose you have removed and you should be right.

But as the other bloke says, you won't get 15 L in unless you have removed the drain plug in the back of the block.
