just wanting to hear how well the schwitzer upgrade turbo goes compared to the standard ht18 at its max say 15psi.... do they lose any low down go? does boost come on slightly slower or is it faster/torquier straight off the bat? can they take 20psi boost all day long? compared to a GT2860RS BB better/equal? thanks

If its for a deisel, unless your doing Very regular oil changes you are Far better going with a sleve bearing turbo. The BB turbos have a tendencey to fail if they get any contamination in the oil, so therefore not the best for a deisel. However people still use them and I am one of them, as they do spool up faster than a sleve turbo, but like i said, they will have a much shorter life span compared to a Sleve turbo. Most guys i know who want a good Garrett turbo set up use the GT2876R, this will easerly produce 20Psi if thats what you what.

P.S be pre-warned if your going to mod your engine and put a trbo on running 15-20PSI you are more than likly going to need a new clutch as well!

Earls do an inline oil filter, washable. They are around the $130 mark from MTQ.

Had a gt28 ball bearing turbo on my 4.2td, was beautiful truck, especially for 4wdin, more torque than I ever needed, was running 16lb for over 3years, never had a problem with it, except on sand use to heat up due to I never installed a intercooler on it, love the garret ball bearing turbos, apparently the schwitzer ball bearing upgrades are quite good so ive been told
, ball bearing turbos spool up instantly , no lag , plenty of power, and strong

Mmmm, bit of a open end question.
If you mean what boost a schwitzer upgrade turbo can deliver, that depends on the wastegate actuator that is used STD is 7psi, Sport is 15psi, Comp is 25psi. The Comp one requires other pump work to deliver the required fuel to achieve this boost.
If you meant how much the motor can safely handle, then the first 2 are safe, the last one requires a good rebuild to make sure it lasts the distance.

not really.i said turbo not motor.i have 15psi already with the ht18 so any upgrade wont be 7 or 15 psi it will be more like 20 psi. if the schwitzer upgrade can EFFICIENTLY do 20 psi without dropping boost besause it out of its efficiency range pumping hot air, than great- this is what i need to know. cheers.
