Hi guys. Curious as to what PSI it takes to open the relief valve that everyone blocks off in the front of the inlet plenum on the 2.8 turbo??

Not sure, i just blocked mine off.
If you want to know, go get a spring and measure the force to open it.

I was told 15psig by the nissan dealer. My turbo boost gauge won't register higher than 10psi so the wastegate is still working ok. Also got this number from another guy who changed his turbo, achieved more boost and had to remove the valve also, as it started o chatter around 15psi.

Mine kept opening at 7psi(faulty) so I just plugged it with a black plastic screw plug from the plastic plumbing section at bunnings.

Thanks for the help guys, looks like plugging the thing up is the most reliable way to go.
