What the hell is going on

Hey all,
I got a HZJ105 with a DTS turbo kit on it, done 206k on it. I have had a slight issue with it though. I gave it a boot full in first gear this morning and when it got up around 3600 the power died and it blew incredible amounts of blue smoke out, loosing all power. this is the second time its happened.
Anyways, after a few seconds it was running smooth as again, boosting up fine? popped the bonnet to inspect and nothing was off or disconnected or anything?
Just wondering what the fuck is going on with that!? stressing me out!
Cheers,
PS - max boost is 13psi

blue smoke = oil

check your inlet hoses. i have heard of a few people that have intake hoses collapse which suffocates the motor and the vacuum sucks oil in.

can the turbo be stuffed and blowing oil in the motor

quite possible but im not sure on the sudden loss of power. usually if it leaks oil the engine takes off as it burns the oil as fuel.
the turbo could be siezing but at the rpm and boost he motor was at.......i would expect the turbo to destroy itself.

How does the hose from rocker cover to turbo inlet run?
Does it have a low point that will collect oil, or is it run up high?
Mine used to run low and collect oil and my intake used to be full of oil. I have since run it up high and the problem has stopped.
Is it possible that the oil that makes its way into the hose settles into the bottom over night, and when you boost it up for the first time it sucks it all into the intake?

This is what it is.
I had the same problem in my 80 series 1Hz DTS T/I running 16psi.
Replace the rubber inlet hose from the turbo to the airbox. When you put the new on in, get a large spring that sits inside it to stop it collapsing. The spring is a bit of a PITA to get in, but you only ever have to do it once.

check the air intake for restrictions first, we had a vehile we did a Safari turbo kit on recently, and it had a birds nest of sticks jammed in the snorkel about 150mm deep, copllected over time, that was allowing the intake hose to suck flat, by creating the restriction.
Removed the birds nest, and problem solved.

Yeah they have a factory Hi-clone type thing in the itake. They can get blocked up with leaves and crap.
Still, why would the problem only be on the first boost up... and not always?

Yeha, its strange, its sorta a whiteish blue that pours out the back...
I also get like a white blue sorta smoke when i pump the throttle from idle, goes away when driving tho. car doesnt burn oil or anything..
I booted it in third last night up round 3800 and there was no issues at all..
I think i might have a fucked injector/injectors..
