Confused, why you need a high steer kit for Bundy front :?

With extra lift, wouldn't you just require a longer panhard & drag link ??
Or are the angles at the tierod ends too harsh ??

 Just a bundy you think

The steering arm is prone to being bent and the tie rods are very low.

I am not sure why yoiu say extend the panhard arms, not head about that one before. Whats the drag link?

Steering arm is behind the diff (between the swivel hubs) and above the radius arms, so is fairly well protected. Can always get a tougher one made if your concerned about it.

If you have lift the panhard will be too short (pulling the diff housing to drivers side) and same with drag link (runs from steering box to top of passenger side swivel, hub steering arm) and should be parallel with panhard mount points.

Steering arm is at the front.

You either have a hilux diff with coil mounts or a bundera diff with 60 series steering by the sounds of it.

A pic of my Bundera front for you to compare ...

The 'Front' picture is correct. However the bar in your 'Behind' pictures is in front of the axle on mine. Your 'Behind' picture is the setup for the lwb version.

OK, AFAIK all Bundera's had the steering rod behind the diff and the SWB Cruisers had it in front.

Learn something new every day :)

If one picture is incorrect, then the other one has to be.

Dougster, you are not a freak :) bundera's have the drag link high in the front (right down to left) and the tie rod behind (nececitating the high pinion centre)

not to drag this thread too far off topic, but do the bondura outer knuckles fit over the inner knuckles on the front end of an 80?

IE: could you swap the four bolt knuckles from a bondura for the two bolt knuckles from a FZJ80?

Not at least the early ones, they have the smaller hilux/40/60 series style CV I think. Later ones maybe. Could just use HZJ/FZJ75 knuckles. They are a high pinion diff with the larger CV's on the later models I believe with a steering setup like a 60 series.

Do you know if the cv's are the same size as the FJ80/FZJ80 cv's?

I'm determined to find a way of making steering for the 80 work even if it brakes me (and it probably will :D ).

Bundera, Hilux beam axle and 60 series are all the same CV joint with different length axles.
Been told 80 series & 78/79 series are the same too but have not personally seen it to know for sure.

As hulsty suggests, try 75 series (leaf sprung) or 78/79 series (coil sprung) knuckles, may work.

The problem is I don't think we got those models here in the U.S. I think we wen't straight from the leaf sprung 60 wagons - the coiled 80 wagons.

You over sea's guys got all the cool stuff.

Have a look at this thread and contact Zoltan, HZJ75 with a hi pinion 8'' diff and what I am pretty sure 80 series CV's. These knuckles might fit a 80, though the steering is different.

You could get these parts from ENS Industrial in Canada, they use cruisers up there in the mines.
