Does anyone know if the Ln106 gearbox will bolt stright into a LN167?

I spat 5th gear on the way home yesterday and have found a cheap Ln106 with 140k on it.

Any info would be great

Cheers

bellhousings should be the same as the LN106 was on a 3L while the LN167 will be on the 5L.

main difference will be the transfer cases and overall length of the drivetrain. Transfer on the 106 should be geardriven while the 167 will be a chain. Therefore you might get the 106 box and case in but the t/f case mount misses the crossmember. Also, overall length may not suit current driveshaft lengths.

I was looking at swapping in a 106 box and case into my 4runner. Tape measure said the overall length for the 106 was about 40 mm less than what's in there now.

But you don't really know what the problems are until you fit it up.

if there both a g52 which the ln106 one will be you could swap the extension housings (rear part of gearbox) over to siut your old transfer case. if it sound to hard just try get the right one to suit you truck
