aluminum air box??

hey guys i found a sheet of aluminum and i was goin to make a airbox out of it. all i need to no is how will it handle the heat and will it keep heat out of the airbox??/

i'd be more worried about it cracking from stress eventually - although rubber mounts would help that.
keeping it single wall would mean it'd heat and cool fast so that wouldnt be an issue.
Youll also need to do R&D for the flow pattern inside the box to make sure you're not causing undue drag on the air inside and hence reducing the air to the motor.

i made this still air box for my previous car, it was an import Toyota twin turbo JZX90.
i fitted a velocity stack behind the pannel filter to improve slow speed airflow and throttle responce
was easy enough to make, as you can see i just bent up the alluminium and riveted it together with some silicon between the joins.
