265/75R16 on a Disco2 ?

I have tried to fit 265/75's on my disco with a 2" lift, stock bumper, stock alloys and was told buy the tyre dealer that it was not possible, because I would get rubbing on the inside front guard and the radius arm.
Does anyone here know any different ? As I will have to settle for 245/75's but I really want the 265's as I have read of it being a popular alternative on my vehicle.
Any advice will help.
Cheers
George

I had 265/75/16 on my Disco, with 2" OME lift. All you have to do is adjust your steering bump stops to stop the tyres hitting the radius arms.
I never had them hit the inner guard on the front though.
The rear quarters will need trimming though. On compression, they'll hit the rear part and can do some nice damage!
Get them on, then flex the suspension and see what you need to cut.
It can still look nice and stock after cutting, it's only a small amount, and it's all aluminium so it doesn't rust!

Just adjust steering stops.

With the OME lift and 265/75-16 tyres you should be ok. No need to trim the guards on the D2, I run 33's and they dont touch anything without a cut. The front bumper will contact though and is where you are limited. If you trim the bumper or fit a bull bar it will be sweet. To stop the radius arm rub just stick a washer behind the steering stops.

265's it is then
! But it looks as though a bull bar is on the cards as well, I'd prefer a TJM, any opinions ?

There's a bloke in the RRC with 265/75's on with a lift as all have said here, but has the stock front bumper fitted and there bugger all room for flex.
It doesn't bother him too much and has to straighten it every time he does go off-road on trips. But they will go on there by hook or by crook!!!!

With a bar and a bit more lift I run 285/75-16 and Simex 33x10.5-16 with no rubs.
