hilux turbo

Post by barnsy »

soo ive got a dts turbo kit on my 2.8 hilux running the mitsubishi td04 turbo and its shit its self. ive searched everywhere cant find any second hand ones. a brand new one is $1,600 and to be repaired is only 200 bucks less. as i dont really have the money right now for a new one. just wondering if anyone else has an idea of a cheaper way i can get out of it or another replacement turbo that i can get second hand to bolt up??
any help or advice is appreciated.
cheers sam

try ebay and ebay motors (USA) if you can find a USA seller who will send it to you, it can be a good way to get parts, I have received parts sent from USA in two days in the past.

Subaru wrxs have been running td04 Factory since 1996, so in saying that the Subaru bolt pattern would have to be one of the most common td04 getting around If they are the same you will pick up a low ks second hand Subaru one for around $200.

There are absolutly 100s of the Subaru pattern ones getting around as they are removed pretty quick when modifing a wrx, liberty or forrester.

Is there any model numbers on the turbo or even a photo should be able to confirm

not the same sorry, Subaru has 3 bolts manifold and 5 for the exhaust. Keep serching mate as you would think that pattern came on some factory vehicle. What's wrong with your turbo? It maybe worth looking what it would cost getting a Subaru turbo and pull the internals out and useyour housings Or use the parts you need off the Subaru one to rebuild your turbo. Let me know you go as I'll be able to forward you onto some cheap subaru td04s
