transfer case issues

driving a up a near vertical hill the zook done about 3 bunny hops with no forward movement, went bang in a big way sending me back wards down the hill smashing the bonnet in to a tree and landing hard at the bottom with the case making some grining noises when it was in drive but not moving the car at all

what could be some of the common things that brake in the transfer case and how would i stregthen the inturnals to hold up to rocks and big hill climbs

Is it a standard case. I have never had any drama's with my standard cases. Maybe upgrade the mounts and adjoining bracketry as the brackets bend and the mounts break also. The case itself is normally strong enough to handle all the abuse a 1.3 with 31's can dish out.

Should of given some details of it the zook is on lux diffs with 35 inch claws and with a top speed of 50 km an hour in low range and

i busted the case with busted gears in it to start with cause the bloke i bought it off of was lied about it and it was stuffed to start with half the teeth smashed of the input shaft to start with so when i loaded it up it went bag

so how would modifying the 1 litre tranfer to suit the 1.3 tranfer set up

If you get the 1 ltr case with the 4wd light output then it is just a matter of changing the flanges with whatever is on your t-case. Or you could spring for a decent set of 6:5 crawler gears, my top speed in low is about
15-20km/phr and it will idle up steep hills in 1st with me out the car
This may take away the need for too much right boot, thus eliminating said breakages.

You sentence structure is terrible so this is what I got out of what I could understand.

I'd say the passenger side mount let go allowing the transfer to twist and knock it out of gear, hence the roll back.

If the gears are ok, you must have gears to be running 35's it may be worth pulling the case apart to inspect it anyways, I'd be putting in a Roctoy ring with HD mounts.

especially if you can drive a up a near vertical hill :)

Pull it to bits and check the internals, it is all guess work till you do, even if you are going replace tho whole case we would all still like to know what went ka-putt.

As just cruisin said, Pull the transfer and boof up the mounts, the load you are able apply on them with 35's gears will stuff them quick smart. You would have aftermarket gears to turn the 35's. Check your gears to make sure you haven't cracked any. Then get a rocktoy t-case ring, build some custom mounts that tie into the ring and the factory mounting positions, then get some stronger rubber chassis mounts for the case.
