hey, i have a gu patrol ute leaf, 5 inch lift with drop shackles. i am currently running neg 28 offset with 35x12.5 muddies and the tyres scrub on the chasis rail before the shackles can even start to open... can anyone help???????????????

Shackles open on extension (drop) not compression. Shocks may be too short, otherwise they dont flex very well from factory. May need to separate some of the leaves from the pack

migth need some wheel spacers if you're tyre's scrubbing on the chassi

ive got 8 inch shocks, so they should be long enough... yeh ive been told i need 3 inch wheel spacers,, since i have neg 28 ofset i was gona buy 2 inch spacers all round, but then the tyres will hit the front gaurd on flex up... then i was gonna put 1 inch spacers on the front and 2 inch on the rear... because i drive mi ute 10 minutes to get where i mostly go 4wding.. and apparently if the front wheels are narrower than ur rear wheels it drive shocking, apparently undrivable???????????

Supieor engineering state for their drop shackles to work (on a hilux) longer leaf springs need to be fitted along with approite shocks. I've fitted a couple of sets and found this to be correct. The front mount shifted forward and then longer leaves fitted. The principal for a patrol would be the same. Less leaves in your pack would also help.

As the leaf diff is much narrower then the front 2" spacers on the rear only should be fine.

GU wagon track, 1605 f, 1625 r. measure your rear track as a comparison.

i brought the kit from superior and they never said anything about longer leaves. i brought it as a kit from them sooo i dunno...

should i get 2 inch spacers on all 4 corners or buy 1 inch spacers in the
front and 2 inch in the rear.....

and is it true what i heard bout it being undrivable if the rear wheels are wider than the front wheel... what happen?????

where did you measure between to get that measure ment

track came from the bibble on here. That could be centre tyre to centre tyre.

I would say its safe to run no spacers on the fron and 2" on the rear.

My rear track is about 1940 outside with neg 22 wheels and 12.5 tyres.

I have drop shakles on the rear of my MQ, I had to move the shock monts for a better angle and removed a couple of leafs, only the short ones. I also use 3" wheel spacer.I also did a leaf reversal and this made a big differance

cheers guys. ive already got my shocks inverted... so im gonna buy 2 inch wheel spacers this week and see how they go...
