I have a 1971 FJ40 petrol and also a BJ40 diesel I want to swap the disc brakes from the BJ to the FJ what is the easiest way to do this. Also if there were any other parts that are easily interchangeable as the BJ is mechanicaly A1 but is covered in rust. I wouldnt mind putting the Diesel into the FJ if it is possible

Just swap the whole front end over, diff and all.

Sounds like a body swap would be the easist. Then you get all the BJ gear with the good body.

As long as they are both the early chassis as i think the later chassis may have different body mounts?

Just make sure they're the same ratio before you go swapping them. Not a big deal if they aren't, you'll just have to swap the centres too.

Some time ago I swapped the two diff/housings, Booster/master cylinder and brake lines out of an 82 BJ40 into my early 73 FJ40 to gain front disc brakes and a balanced system and it worked well. I just had to space the booster 100ml out from the fire wall to clear the stiffening fin.
