hi all

i have an oil leak at my front diff on the drivers side.

my main question is that, does the diff need to come out to replace the seal or does on the drive shafts need to come out?

cheers

if your talking about this seal on the diff. no you dont have to remove your diff. its just alot of shit you have to take off to get there...

i did it under 3 hours the first time, but the first time i damaged the seal as i was put the shaft back in, found out the next day after i took it for a spin it was still leaking :bad-words:

i took extra care with the 2nd one and got it right  and only took me over an hour to do

if your up to that plate/flange bit, all you need to do is wedge it out now. i used a pogiy (spellin) bar. or u could use a wedge and a hammer. but the bar worked best for me. it will just slide out, but may take a few hits or so as theres a circlip inside holding that shaft in.
