quick Q about replaceing wheel studs on front axle

Its a MK but prob the same as GQ.

My front left wheel fell off this morning, lucky it was right outside my drive way.

My Q is regarding the removal of the actual/fitting of the actual studs. I know i have to pull it all down but do the studs knock out or do they have to be pressed in and out properly?

My theory on the whole left wheel drama is aftermarket rims not being good enough where the nut seats and slowly wearing out beyond serviceable limits allowing the rim to work its way out.

knock the studs out with a hammer, put the new studs in with the spline lined up and pull it in with a few washers and a wheel nut or plain nut the same pitch. Nissan is M12x1.25

with my gq i had to take the rotor off the hub so all you do is un do the 6 bolts and remove the rotor, when that is off just tap the old studs out and replace

LOL, MK isnt same as a GQ, its the same as an MQ.

Depending on if you have Auto hubs, (which most MK's do) youll have to remove them to get to the rotor, which will have to come off to re-install the stud, yep wacking will work fine.

do it yourself though, dont take it to a joint to get done unless they know what they are doing, (steer clear from normal tyre joints, like borepairs, etc, theyll just try to undo the rotor without pulling the hub, and fuck it & strip your rotor bolts) <-- ive had this happen, the fuckwits.. they ended up saying they didnt have time to do the job after leaving it with them for 3 hrs and then i take it to Nissan (this is before i could swing a spanner) and they ring up and tell be the frikken rotor was stripped and how that would have happened..

So just take your time and do it yourself. No biggie. You can also regrease your wheel bearings while your there.. :) BONUS! :)

Crap!!ola!!! the whole wheel just fell offf??? WOW, lucky you werent doing speed. (though in an MQ, anything above 60km/h is speed
