To Keep or not to keep?!

G'day... it's been awhile since my last post so I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I've got a 90 model mav xlt swb with the 4.2 pet (with 265 thou kms). Its been sitting idle for about four years as I've had the luxury of a company 4x4. Its lucky to have driven 2000km's in th last four years when I've chosen to take it for a short run. Looking at moving to the Bundy region so I'll need the fourby again so I'm wondering whether to sink some money into it or get rid of it and buy another.

The body and chassis are rust free so its really just some mechanicals that need work.

I know the suspension is original and needs bushes, springs, and shocks done (i've been quoted about $2k for 2 inch lift with springs, shocks, caster bushes, panhard front/rear bushes and wheel alignement). The clutch has some sounds and the body mounts need replacing. The engine is tired but seems ok.

So what do you guys reckon, keep it and sink some money into it or cut my losses and look for a replacement. Very interested in yours thoughts?

I agree with not paying $2k for a 2 inch lift...i paid $500 for mine and put it in myself (very easy to do).
note: i have a lwb, so there might be more to a swb lift???

I'd keep it, and tell the bloke trying to sell you a 2" lift for $2k to jam it up his arse.

2" springs come up on here and eBay regularly for $100-$200, and you could even get a spring/shock set for $500. Give Shane at Suspension Stuff a call and he can hook you up with the whole lot.

keep in mind the original post mentions bushes aswell
yes, i agree 2k is fairly steep, but bushes mean time (removing arms, pressing & reinstalling). time = $$$

He didn't say it was $2k fitted though. He probably doesn't really need castor bushes for a 2" lift either. Anyways, we're only guessing here.
