Are these engine mounts stuffed?

Post by pjb »

Folks,

I'm trying to solve a vibration problem. I get rapid clonking noises coming from somewhere under accelleration at low speed.

I suspect engine mounts, but I don't know a good mount from a bad one.
So I've lifted the weight off the mounts and I can see a big gap between the rubber and the metal plate. These should be bonded right?

Here's what it looks like:

I would say that's stuffed.

Okay then...
I'm getting some mounts overnighted here. Has anyone done this job with the engine in situ'? Looks like you need midget hand and mitget tools to get to the nuts.

Na, it'll be easy enough, take the weight of the engine, the easiest way to get the bolts is through the side - take the front wheels off.
