i want to run a fj40 2f motor on straight gas, what needs to be done, is it a big job? is it a good idea, yeah i know except if i run out of fuel. i read in a 4x4mag a guy had a straight gas set up but kept the old carby so he could switch back, i guess if he ran out of gas :) sounds simple but then again i am mechanically challenged.

well im tempted to convert my 2f to straight gas but after running out of both petrol and gas the other week i think ive changed my mind lol

you could try somewhere like gasresearch or if you wanna diy go visit a wreckers find a car with similar capacity engine thats on straight gas and steal the setup then mod it to suit something like off a ford 250 would be a good ides thats what i was planing on doing

dunno if this is any help

is it on gas already?

if not youll need a tank and lines and all that crap. and a straight gas carby. many to choose from.

just petrol at the moment, getting new motor soon, was just curious of the gas option since leaded fuel will disappear this september... n its much cheaper than premium.... no money anyway

my 2F was on petrol only, i only ever ran unleaded coz im a cheap bastard. if your building it for LPG you wont need to run leaded anymore. so youll save $0.04/Litre  will be a big saving per week if it drinks like mine did.

you could buy all the stuff you need. but youd be best to get a shop to put it in for ya. that way its all legal and safe.
