im not sure if it applys to you but my 60 series sounded like it had a noisy diff/box.i pulled the tail shaft of it only to find the pinion nut was only finger tight!!!these have to be at like 180 pounds so after putting a new seal and a speedi sleve on the pinion as it was worn its running like a charm.
i found with mine 5th gear was the worst noise then 4th wasnt so bad then 3rd was hardly noticable, must have been the back lash.

hav you checked the oil quality and level in the box?
Could be worth checking the output flange nuts but its most likely a noisy synchro, the flange nuts hav to be at 90 foot pounds.
Try some of the nulon gearbox treatment in the oil, works a treat on shifts and noises.

Pull the shifter off and see why it is popping out of gear, the bush could be missing or bunched up, start by changing the oil and using sum decent additive.
