Good seats

Post by slosh »

Anyone got ricer or aftermarket seats in their rig that they like?

Looking to change the ones in my Hilux, so something that fits in easy would be good.

I got a pair from Alljap that were out of a Hoonda accord I think, 3 of the 4 mounts lined up perfectly and only had to adjust the 4th a little. A heap better than the std lux ones and cost about 200.

I have a Stratos drivers seat and I love it. It is supportive and comfortable.

I have just bought a pair of the Poly race seats  No padding - but very supportive and I can hose them off  Plus they are cheap as chips ;)

hilux seats

Post by Doggy »

I ripped a pair of 4 way adjustable bucket seats out of a japo surf and they bolted straight into my 84 model hilux when i had it and they were magic seats. They were really comfy had adjustable lumber support and side support and even arse support, they were a little higher then standard lux seats though. They took all of 5 mins to put in and they only cost like 250 or 300 bucks for a pair of really good condition ones from a 4wd or jap import wrecker.
highly recommend them

Were these the recaros? Some surfs came new with recaros. These would be the best bet I reckon. Depending on price and availability of course. They would be a piece of piss to put in.

I had an importer on the north side try to sell me a pair of Recaro's out of a surf, sure they were bolt in, but the trim was all torn and stained  and he still wanted $500 for the pair!!

ive seen them as low as $450 a pair for the recaros, but you gotta be quick to snap them up
some wreckers will only sell the whole recoar interior set complete so you gotta buy the surf door pnals and back seats n shit with em.

Damn might go the accord ones. One of the guys from the board here even told me newer commo seats fit without much modding.

The surf seats I had were'nt the recaros, they were just standard surf seats and they werent torn or anything. I got them from Capalaba 4x4 wreckers slosh so its not to far from the gold coast...

Integra seats are good too, had them in an old charade a few years ago.

Feroza seats are pretty good (out of the upper spec models) probably pricey at wreckers though.

Hilux came into work once with STI seats in it and the guy reckined that they were bolt straight up... don't know about that  . Anyway for nissan owners I always found N13 SSS pulsar seats the most supportive and comfortable. Each to their own (size/frame) but you don't have to spend mega bucks to find something worthwhile, just spend a bit of time in the wreakers.
