Hi all, my name is Nick and I own a 91 model dual cab hilux which has a vn v6 installed backed by a g52 with the gear driven( RF1A [ 7bolt, oval ] ) transfer case.
I just found out the g52 and w56 have the same g/box to bell housing bolt pattern, and that the 89-95 model w56's have the same t/ cases as my g52,
I am now wondering if the w56 (front shifting t/case, 89-95 models) will be a straight swap to the g52 as in:
same length so that the original tail shaft can be used?, as well as the original cross member?

Thanks people, Nick.

it will have a custom bellhousing for the engine conversion. so your need to reuse yours.

just get any g52 box or box and transfer and bolt it onto your bellhousing.

can normally pick up ok gboxs and transfer for 250-300 they are very common.

if unsure about the transfer reuse yours, but im fairly sure the chain driven version was out of non hilux i.e 4runner/surf etc but cant give you exact models.

but any ln106 single/dualcab (common as muck) g52 and tranny will be fine.

thanks for the info mate, but it seems my local wreckers are money hungry so and so's as they want $750 and thats exchange compared to the up to $300 price range that a couple of people now have told me they are worth, and Im having trouble finding 1 privately. I dont suppose you know if the w56 will be the same cross member and tail shaft as my original g52 one's?
once again thanks for the info.
