cv s and axles

gday any advice on which cv and axle combo are the ducks guts for my gq . i heard a rumour that some one in newie treats genuine nissan ones chriogenically (after heat treatment?) im way over swappin em over on the tracks IN THE RAIN :x :x

cmon people tell me who do i give the business to will it be cal offroad or bbm or superior eng. etc etc or do i get a standard set treated . also should i use a standard axle so i retain a weak link somewhere . this is a comp truck that gets driven hard :twisted: so i want the best :) :)

problem is that turns an easy job into a big expensive job that will require more mods=money (mods to steering gq to gu)(wheelbase is 50mm wider on gu) yes i could use spacers on rear wheels but not allowed APPARENTLY :roll: at 4x4 masters series or on road :x what to do decisions decisions :?

Go the cals there good for a floggin BUY DIRECT!!!!

I have had them for over 1 year with a 5.0 efi v8 and no respect and have had no problems yet.

this is the kind of feedback i need as i love the loud pedal although locked i dont need it as much but its auto lokka so cant switch it off so NEED STRONG CVs , what about axles?

Hi Mate i have been useing Cals Cv and axles for over 2 years now in a winch challenge truck and although they have been clicking for over a year now we still cant break them this is in a highly modified intercooled turbo diesel,like you we got sick of changeing CVs during comps ,since swapping over we have given it death prob driven it harder and used front locker more but still all good .the cost would prob work out cheaper in the end and you end up with a reliable truck ..cheers.Steve

i made this decision not long ago and went GU. but have not put the diff in yet. got a complete diff minus centre (cause i dont need one) for $600. so i cant comment how easy they are to break :cool: but alot cheaper then $1800 IMO
