Got a flogged out centre bearing in the rear tailshaft of an MK Triton.
Is it a bearing that needs to be pressed on with a specialty/shop press or can it be done with an ordinary press?

It looks like the rubber flexy bit is gone.It shudders when you take off from a corner. Not much fun..

Mine doesnt shudder.

Just thumps a bit going over reasonable bumps.

My mech of 30 years said he could replace it but probably have to do it again within 100.000ks.

You can get under vehicle and rattle the tailshaft around.

Seems to be inherent in the tritons.
