For those interested, came across some ridiculously cheap hi steer arms, even the kit is choip choip.

They are reputable i've dealt with them before without a hassle for other things.

If a few are keen might organise a group to bring in if its going to save freight so long as we stay under the duty and gst threshold.

im in for a full kit if the group buy goes ahead.

GOOD WORK :P

Even if freight isn't discounted, or kit prices, its still dirt cheap. I've sent an email off enquiring about shipping a kit to Redcliffe Qld 4020, also if shipping will be cheaper for multiple purchases and if so what quantity discounts will begin etc.

Last time i purchased 2 sets of forged pistons, 2 sets of forged rods, 2 sets of arp rod and main bolts, 2 mls headgaskets and it came to $70 au and the exchange rate wasn't as good as it is now. I am aware the rods are longer and will weigh more.

I'll keep it updated when i know.

yes, i still have a complete disassembled, machined and forged bottom end, i think rory's thinking about hectifying his motor with my crap and nawwwsss or someshit haha.

www.atomicspeedware.com will be the cheapest place to get the forged 3rz stuff or lc.

lc do a forged and built short block for 4k which probably isnt bad value but its 4k haha

Looks like a TG kit.

Unless LC uses USPS, I think you'll be in for a surprise with the postage cost. The other way to try is to use a freight forwarder.

Yes im guessing anything from $100 and up for freight, either way it is not going to be near $400 which would bring it inline with the cheapest in aus. Freight may not be a problem if i can get it in a container that someone is bringing in

LCE ships UPS daily with the following services available: Ground, 3rd Day Select, 2nd Day Air and Overnight. U.S. Postal services are also available upon request

Time frame is not a problem to me, if it takes 2 weeks or 3 i dont care so long as it turns up in good condition, which should make it cheaper

4k, fawk that... ill be doing it low boost naturally aspirated bottom end... when its taken off daily duties so it dosent matter.. ill just rebuild it. I saw a 35psi shortblock on one of them sites a while back

Let me know when ya go for the highsteer brad cuz ill be in for sure... sick of j arm problems... Oh, n rory needs to fix his shit so he can actually drive it first lol

I would seriously look into freight forwarders and go straight through TG.

I got quoted $300 US for shipping of a Dual case adapter and twin stick and $427 US for longs via UPS.

A container would be the way to go.

As soon as i get a freight price back and if its reasonable everyone can go ahead.

If its ridiculous ill get onto a freight fowarder unless someone has dealt with them before and can sought out a price etc.

Im keen also, i got a quote from L/U for TG for just arms and rods 650 which i thought was good. Least then you know after sales service will be quick instead of having to chase international returns and warranty.

Hey Guys, if you are interested in a group buy on high steer, we at Locktup can help you out. We have just received a shipment of 24 sets of high steer arms.

Our kits use the TG arms and the tie rod and drag link is made locally with a thicker wall, and are zinc plated (silver) instead of powder coated.

If someone wants to organise a group buy, we can do 10 kits for $500 each inc GST or $550 inc GST with the IFS Steering Box mount kit. The whole lot will need to be paid for and shipped as one single order and shipped to one single location.

Give me a call on 1300 799 340 or shoot me a PM

Cheers

Chris

This is why I've gotten all my parts through Locktup, after trying to deal with US companies directly.

That's a killer deal. Well done.
