has anyone bored out their sierra??

How much bigger can you make it?
I have been looking at doing this, as right now i don't have the money for a engine conversion.

What do you want to do it for? just to clean it up for a rebuild? or are you trying to increase capacity for a power increase? if the latter forget it, its not going to make much difference. unless you are stroking it and getting a noticable capacity increase which boring alone won't do.

i would stroke it as well.

but would you get it up to a 1.6 with bore and stroke done???

Not sure exactly what size you can get, but I know that suzisport sell a 1.5lt which has been built from the 1.3lt so atleast that far. But its going to cost you more than a conversion once you start doing all this. Talk to Darryl on this board he is a Brain on these engines I believe.

my engine got a rebuild about 12months ago. it got bored out 60thou because it had already been rebuild by the previouse owner at 40 thou. they said to me if I ever wanted to rebuild it again I would need to buy a new block. they said it was out around the 1.4L mark and that I wouldn't notice an increase in power.
I found it run 100 times better than a smokey old 1.3, but no real big power increase just a stronger motor and a bit more pull than the old one.

but I would look at a conversion in your case. I should have done it as all up it ended up around the $2000 for a full rebuild including acid bathing, new cam shaft and all new bolts. it looked really pretty when it was new and clean.

its for sale if you want it. the car is going to be a farm basher so I am selling the good motor to someone who wants it and putting an older motor in it.

yeah i think i will do a search on the engines you can fit into a sierra.. money isn't a big issue when it comes to buying an engine, because parents help out :D :D
I just don't have the knowledge of what fits and what doesn't..

do a search and I think there is a post called something like, what engine is best, or something. do a search with engine or motor in it and you will have too many posts to read.
