Doors - On or Off?

Who here wheels a Rangie with no doors on?

I love having the doors off on my Zook and would probably do it when my Rangie is up and running. The hinges are a bit more fidgety to undo though. Anyone made quick disconnect doors?

There was a thread on Discoweb.org with a guy running a 4 door Disco Doorless...it was not "eye catching" - more like UGLY, however, shedding all that weight is sure nice...

Would there be an issue of cabin structure? How about either doing some tube doors or getting second hand ones and cutting them up into 1/2 doors?

is it possible to stick a removable pin in the middle part of the hinge?
you would only have to disconnect the door opening too far thingie.

Are you going to drive it on the road? In QLD you would get a million tickets.

doing the cage myself. planning 6pt with chassis support. no rear bench seats.

never got a ticket in the zook and it had nothing but a winscreen and targa.

i'll have to have a closer look at the hinge

In Vic as long as you have all the side mirrors on it seems to be ok. We have looked into it for Suzukis and that was the response from Vic Roads so can't see it being a problem with a Rangie,

NAM get rid of the rear glass and use roll up plastic windows to save weight and keep the weather out of the cab

NAM - you do realise that you live in Victoria don't you? Its about 10 degrees and raining outside at the moment. A little guy like you wouldn't have a heap of insulation either!!!!!
