I have a rv troopy (forwards facing seat, 3 in front, 3 in rear) and I want to put one of the 2 seat side running bench seats in the rear behind the forwards facing seat. Been a troopy it has all the holes drilled and ready to roll all Ill need to do is bolt in the seat and belts and the job will be done. My question is, because it a facory 6 forwards facing seat rig would I need to get the rear seat engineered even though the holes are already there and other troopies use them?

I would say yes you need a mod plate for a seating capacity change. The fact that you have the factory holse and assumingly will use factory seats and belts just means you shouldn't have any dramas with an engineer ticking it off.

What does your compliance plate say for seating capacity?

Then yes you will need an engineer to sign off with a mod plate and you'll just go down to the transport authority and have your seating capacity ammended on your rego. Thats how it works in QLD anyway, maybe someone from Vic could confirm for you.
