I first used 50x50x4 and 40x40x RHS but turned that into liquorice pretty quick:

Stepped up to 65x65x6 and 50x50x4. Had to weld a thin piece on the 65 to stop it clacking. No vibes til 60km/h!

Not long enough and nobody wants to spend $600+ on a long spline shaft.

you dont have to have a long spline shaft all you have to do is get a rear shaft and cut it down to the right legnth then weld it to the cardnal joint and it should have enough length in the spline..
that way it would only cost you about 50 dolars if you dont have a rear shaft laying around

A stock slip joint (about 100mm slip?) has nowhere near enough slip for any decent front end leaf flex. My current shaft has about 300mm of slip and cost about 20 bucks in steel..

this is on my coiled 75, i had moved the front diff forward about 80mm which my slip spline was only just biting on about 20mm of spline , and i can fully flex my front end till the tyre is jut about touching the inside of the guard and the slip joint didnt really change at all. but to be on the safe side i got it lengthened

Yup, that's why I said leaf sprung front. Whole different kettle. And better fish.

I used 50x50x4 and 40x40x5 on mine and its been launched on hills from full throttle and it is still going. Just make sure you centre everything so it stays somewhat balanced.
