Thay sure are the same just depends on the ratio of the diffs of each truck. trans/axle plate will tell you what the ratio is, ......411- 4.11
.....39- 3.9 and so on.

Hope this helps.

not all of them are the same, some gu's have the h260 rear diff where as gq's and some gus have the h230 or 233 or what ever it is (slightly smaller rear diff) the locker from the 260 isnt interchangable with the small one iirc.

sure if my info is wrong tho someone will correct me

Pretty much correct...

If the UTE is leaf sprung will have the big rear diff which wont suit...

Coil ute will fit most models.

putting a gq centre into a gu u have to take out the thrust washer i think it is so im assuming when putting a gu centre into a gq u will need to put that bit in.

but i would be swapping the complete diffs as said above

This is not coorect.

The early GQ airlocker had a thrust block inside them, this was to suit the MQ rear. To fit one of these to a GU it required the htrust block removed or 5mm cut from the ends of each axle.

DO NOT remove the thrust washers. This will cause the CV to protrude into the spindle too far and it will chew the inside of the spindle.

If you have not damaged the GU axle assmbly's, change the whole lot over. They are a direct bolt in.

Read the second line I wrote above. The 5mm gets cut from the centre side of the axle, it only applies to early gq airlockers. I think the airlockers changed in 2004 ish to have no thrust block so GQ/GU are the same locker now.
