4agze vitara with a new gearbox.. suggestions?

Hey guys,
So I have a 1996 2door vitara with an efi engine with an oil leak and a gearbox that 'crunches' into second gear when changing at speed (to keep the momentum in the dunes) so I'm thinking about putting in a 4agze and a new gearbox.
every efi vitara ive looked at has some sort of oil leak, so im thinking its best to switch to a different engine anyways.
do you guys have any recommendations for the 4agze and gearbox combo, and where to buy it from and who to do the conversion in Perth?
should I get another original zook gearbox?, or put in a t50 or supra gearbox or some sort of Auto (an auto would be nice as I do alot of driving)

An A40 (03-56) Auto from an AE71 Corolla will bolt on. Mine is bolted onto a 20v 4age. Its long though, if you do any 4wding you will need to squeeze in a sierra transfer or something similar, or look at adapting the vitara transfer to it. All painful.
Its a 3speed aisin-warner mechanical cable operated/cable kickdown box. Mine is untested as yet except for a few runs up and down the paddock. Seems to work well.
Engine conversions are a pain in the butt. I should have just put a G16 in my sierra. but the extra 50kw from the 20v will be nice when its done.
You are over in WA. It's going to cost you an absolute minimum of $4k to do this sort of engine swap.
My advice...fix the oil leak, get the gearbox recoed, give the engine a good service, plugs, filters, leads and add some extractors and 1.75-2inch exhaust and go and have fun.

if you have a daily to drive then doing the swap would be ok. if not fix what you have and drive it

I will swap you 4age with wolf 3d ecu and 5spd box for your vitara motor.
Setup is currently in a sierra, Iam in perth p.m. if keen.
I have just been given a sierra with engine mounts rewelded for 1.6 and its easier to just bolt one in than to put it back to a 1.3

the last time I spoke to someone about the gearbox, they were talking around $3500... im not sure if they were talking about re-co-ing the old one or a new re-co one.. but to me that seems like a waste of money.
what kind of price should i expect for a re-co'ed gearbox? and what if one of the cogs is missing a few teeth or something? a few mechanics have told me the syncros are messed up on this gearbox

99.99999% It's the same as the carby box. They seem pretty durable - I'd just get a wrecker box and throw it in.

thanks for the tip. what is the 0.1% difference then?
don't they all have different ratios like the early 1.0 to 1.3 and then the 1.6 vitara to 1.6efi vitara, id assume the ratios are different!?
and getting any 'wrecker' part for a suzuki is hard in W.A. and how do i know if its any good? anyone have any cheap suggestions?
