I want to make a drawer system for under my tray and I'm wondering if anyone else has one that they've made. What did you use as runners? How did you mount it? What did you make it out of? All that usefull kinda stuff.
Also does anyone know where to get the heavy duty latches that are used on ute boxes, you know, the T-piece handle ones with key hole in them?

i would say get the draw folded up out of sheetmetal and the weld some rhs to each side then get some bearings for the the rhs to run on top and bottom

bearings are a good idea. How much weight would they be able to support?

You can use skateboard bearings - they are cheap and a std metric size.
But for $2 - $3 each - you can get small rubber wheels from bunnings
But how are you going to stop your runners from filling up with mud + dust (it is under s 4wd !!)
Some of the bought drawers - actually have a completely sealed "outer" box - that keeps the internal drawer + runner free from most of the dirt.
Cheers.
