my starter circuit keeps blowing the fuse and i cant start the car!!!!

i have re-wired the starter so its on a push button and it bl;ows the fuse after about 2-3 secs once the button is pushed. It is not a short in the cable as that has been replaced. I think its in the solinoid but i havnt pulled the starter out yet (i will do that on the weekend). what do i look for and is it easily fixed?

So the fuse is just inline with a switch and the starter solenoid? What is the rating on the fuse? It shouldnt use too much power as the solenoid is just an electro-magnet.

If you are using the correct rated fuse, its most likely either the starter wire has rubbed through and is touching earth, or youre solenoid is shorting out.

Your solenoid can easily draw over 40 amps the pull in and engage the starter.
