Ok I snapped the uni flange on the weekend. The 2 holes where the uni caps go in shattered.

Is this common?

how many people have done this before?

it was on the rear shaft on the diff.

when they get really worn with alot of freeplay the jolt when accelerating could be about the only thing to cause it, unless it seized.
Ive never heard or seen it happen.

I killed my driveshaft like that because the unijoint had flogged out so much the two yokes rubbed together wearing them out enough that when I gave it some boot it blew apart. I killed two unijoints because of axle wrap from springs that were to soft. Learnt my lesson there!

being SPOA you're getting spring wrap (google it) - theres only really 2 ways of fixing it... stiffer leaves (not generally good for a zuk) and a trac bar of sorts...

Do a search on "Trac Bar" and you should find the big thread on it with pics of peoples various ways of combatting the dreaded spring wrap =P

Like alien said, and I would do it sooner than later because you will continue to do more uni's
