Was reading On the Pajero Forums that U can put LWB Leaves in the back (which are longer) and they will give U aprox 2.5" or thereabouts.
If thats too much, U can then combine this with a longer shackle to then bring the truck back down.

As Phwoar said, Winding the tortion bars is the easiest way to bring the front up to match.
A body lift will give U the appearance of a lifted truck, but will not give U any extra ground clearance, and, with 31's fitted, isnt necessary as they wont bind or scrubthe guards.

as phat customs said the bodylift option will only give you the tuffer look.It gets the body up without bringing chassis and drivetrain weight with it and lets you run bigger tyres without fouling.

But due to the limited movement in the suspension you should be right.
Also rob,am i not thinking right here?how does a longer shackle lower it back down a little tho?

From my understanding, and, from what ive mocked up here, sholdnt a longer shackle let the LONG spring hang back further and therefore drop the cars ride height???

If the long spring is on the standard short shackle, wouldnt the bow in the spring be bigger and therefore push the axle down more???

Or do U have the bull by the proverbial "arse"???
It was quite late at night when I wrote this.

Lifting the Pajero at the front

Post by chepercam »

Most of the lift to the car is provided by the elastic constant of the spring, the shackle is nearly vertical so it have room to rotate back and forth to give room to the spring to bend. Said so, the amount of bending in the spring is mostly dependable on the vehicles weight.

But the explanation of Phat have also something interesting, if you put a longer spring, so long that you make the shackle go back too much you will provoke it to be harder or even locked under compression.

I have an OEM Old man Emu suspension that features 2" lift at the back with longer springs and the standard shackle, on the front is just 1". I am looking for ways to lift it more but I have learned that in the front there is not so much to do. Does anybody knows how can I get a kit to lift the front farther? (without hacking the torsion bars)

If you have a gen 1 fitting gen 2 top and lower arms widens your track, by about 1.5", which gives you more movement at the wheel

I wound up my torsion bars and put lifted springs from a lwb in it (cost me 100 for the pair from a wreckers) and it gave it a nice lift. I had to trim the bump stops to make it even though. It probably wasnt very safe, but it was high. I could fit 33's with out scrubbing, It didn't flex much though, but good for mud.
