my 2001 4.2 had a dts intercooler & stage 1 kit fitted 6 years ago with a 21/2 inch exhaust but std dump & was running 94 rwkw 20psi boost & etg's @300 doing 100ks & would only go to 400-450 when pushed hard & towing a 1.5ton camper & up to 500deg on rare occasions but it has just spat an exhaust fan on the turbo f#*$$$
so the turbos been rebuilt put a 21/2 dump pipe on & had it dynoed & now
107 rwkw 16-18 psi boost but the egt's are now at 350-400 doing 100ks & rise 450-500 going up hills no towing
any ideas where to start looking at what to fix/adjust or is this ok
its a heavy tourer with 200,000ks on the clock but i cant get used to seeing such high temps compared to be for

depends on wat sorta tune u want? if ur worried about the egt then get the pump turned down, in doing that u will loose hp of coarse. i wouldn't be too worried as 550 is considered safe i know ppls who go alot higher for short times.
post or pre turbo is the pryo ?
egt

Sounds like they have tweaked the fuel and dropped the boost a bit when dynoing.
i'd put the boost back to where it was at 20psi - as that'll help cool the egt's (you can also increase the injection advance up to a max of 6' with some know how)
then if its still not where YOU want it to sit, adjust the fuel back a touch.
Its ok where it is (550 max) but if you ever tow those temps will get a lot hotter.

the probe is about 1-2 inches down the exhaust

Exactly what Garth has said you still have the same fuel delivery for 20 psi.
However i would also consider getting a 3" dump and exhaust as this well help expel the hot exhaust gasses.
Also look at your air intake, and check the intercooler has no oil in it..
