Just wondering about hilux diff breathers, are they all the same across the board or should they be changed to a higher place. Are they a spring type breather as I have heard and if so are they ok as is. I don't do alot of water but a bit of mud as it is petrol engine. If it needs to be changed is it as easy as putting a hose over the spring and tying it off to the body?

have a look in the nissan forum theres a thread on diff breathers there at the moment. the spring type ones are not adequate. when i did the breathers on my lux i got some metal fittings with a long barb from pirtek cause the spring type ones dont have enough length to safely attach the hose to. parts i used: 2 metal fittings, 1 T- piece, rubber vacuum hose, 1 ryco fuel filter, assorted hose clamps and zip ties. run the lines from the diffs up into the engine bay and wack the fuel filter on the end and u r sweet. i dont do much water/mud either but its cheap insurance
