Hi Fella's

Would anyone be able to tell me how hard or easy it is to put a 60 series handbrake setup on a 45. I know it is not too bad on a 47, but I;m wondering abou the under-dash lever on the 45, particularly the cable. Any learned input welcome

Matt

I have it set up on a 40, same sort of deal as a 45.

If you currently have a full floater rear diff with 4 bolt backing plate then you should be able to swap a complete 60 rear drum assembly (backing plate to drum with handbrake levers) and a 60 series handbrake cable with diff mounting brackets into your 45. You'll just need to make a joiner from your current hand brake cable to the end of the 60 hand brake cable which should meet somewhere under the drivers seat. Otherwise, if you have the room, you could mount the 60 series handbrake lever somewhere between the seats and just get rid of the 45 pull out lever and cable.

Let me know if you need pics and I'll try and get some for you.

Any way to do this without needing the late model 40 series u bolt plates that allow the cable to miss the rear shocks?

Mine is a 75 and I didnt have any dramas with the cable touching the shocks. This is the only pic I could find before I swapped the shocks to the front of the axle housing as they were rubbing on the lpg tank.

You might have to save the pic and zoom in a bit to see the cable relative to the shock.
