Advice needed

I have seen a 1995 Cherokee which is in great condition (great body and leather trim)and drives really well, $3500 but can probably get for $3000.

The only problem is the mileage it has done 390,000k's.

I will only be using it to tow a small racing car (total trailer and car weight less than 1500k's. but will be some interstate trips

Should I run a mile from it or is it worth the risk

Ask to see service history and any reciepts for work done on it,
take it for a good 15minute test drive and keep an eye on all the guages,
turn the aircon on whilst driving!
And check all fluids before and after the drive.
Xj's have a tendency to overheat especially when under load, ie towing.
The reason I say check fluids before and after is, they might have only just changed them so it looks clean.
So the drive will let any dirty bits mix and you might be able to see it.
Make sure there are no leaks around any hoses.
And check the radiator and clutch fan really well.
K's don't matter on any well kept car but maintenance realy does!!!
Take a friend and check for any auto rattles and exhaust smoke and smell.
Personaly if I was going to be towing anything over 800kg's I would buy something bigger as the xj only weighs 1550kg's wet it's self.

Other then normal cooling issues, and auto cooling issues they are a good truck and can perform well, many have done more k's and still going strong, it's just the maintanance, a big must with jeeps. Not really built for the Aussie climate.
