Sliders - What colour to paint ??

Post by slowhilux »

Jeremy (surfection) has almost finished the sliders for my 80 series, which look farking trick, and nice and beefy :D  . Full credit to jeremy, they are MAD sliders.

He reckons i should paint them white, i say pus :finger: (im in 2 minds about his tho!), im NOT painting them black, cos its boring, and everyone paints 'em black  . The missus reckons i should paint them Holden Metallic Green, as seen on the VY SS utes and sedans, and im thinking the Ford Blood Orange (?), on the BA XR6's and XR8's.

I DONT CARE ABOUT SCRATCHING THE FAWK OUTTA THEM, THATS WHAT THEY ARE THERE FOR!

Now, any one got any ideas?? The truck is white, the bullbar is white, and the rear bar is black, if that helps

You could paint them black or charcoal, but with a strong pearl or metallic like on skiboats. That way they would blend in with the truck but dazzle in the light.

Maybe you should go red with a touch of white. Sounds like a nice pink is the way to go for you, if you can;t make up your mind. This is a tech forum, not an episode of the block

All jokes man, seriously, hammertone those fucker , they wil get rashy eventually and hammer in a can is easy touchup with good looks. Or urban camo...

My bullbar, roof rack, and sliders are all charcoal hammertone.

Comes up quite well, makes it a bit different from all the cars with every accessory black, and is pretty forgiving of any bruises the track may inflict.

Aside: Just finished the sliders, now I have to redo the way they mount to the chassis... that'll teach me to rely on measurements and not bolt stuff up at each step... grrr.

Seen the "charcoal" powdercoat? It's basically dark grey with white spots to give metallic effect. Matches up well with white duco.

See wheels below.

Welders and the heat generated whilst using them have alot to answer for as well !!

I'm starting to sway towards hammertone philbert, maybe do them white at first and if they look :rainbow: redo them. If you're lucky i'll finish them tomorrow night, better remove that cargo barrier or bring a trailer !!

I know.......why don't we contact Renovation Rescue for an opinion.....or we can petition Queer Eye for the Straight Guy to add a vehicular decorator to that wacky crew!!!!

My vote.....match the sliders to the curtains and the jocks you are wearing now!!!!!!! You decide if you want checks or horizontal or vertical stripes.
