Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hi all

Im looking at buying an 04 model SR5 Hilux, turbo diesel.

Ive been told by a few people that the 1KZ-TE engine is horrible for fuel consumption, is this true as ive been having mixed responses from people

However another person told me that the of the 01-04 SR5 luxs were fitted with the 1KD-FTV which is a far better engine???

I didnt think this was the case but im still doing alot of research and any help woyuld be greatly appreciated

1KD only came out in the current generation of hiluxs locally ....in europe they had them in the previous shape in 2.5 litre configuration but not here.

1KZ is still a good engine......depends how you drive it and how much weight is on your vehicle.

My old 04 hilux was quite thirsty on fuel, around 420 from a tank full thats why i got rid of it and got the new model, HEAPS better700+
