I did it and weighed up the pro and cons verses reduction gears and very glad to have gone with the duals. It will still allow you to "tour" as such and keeps the original low range plus the added bonus of the reduction and a 2wd lowrange option.
If you find you need more later then add the reduction gears to the backmost box.

I think its one of thise things that SEEMS like a great idea, but in reality (and practical execution), it would be painful to the extent that its not worth the extra engineering!
The concept of having 2 transfer cases, one with std gears and one with crawlers is GREAT! More gear options, std or crawler, and even the possibility of combining the 2 for SUPER DUPER extra silly s/low gearing.
In reality, a set of crawler gears in the (1) transfer case will do 99.99% of us. Crawler gears (I had a set of Mark's gears in the old Mav') are the second best traction aid that I put in the old girl (after 2x air lockers). If 1st low is now TOO low, go to 2nd or even 3rd!
Brilliant in concept (sounds cool), expensive in execution (see Bartso's post), not really necessary (how many of these has Mark's sold?)
