Gotten all but the ones on the top of the motor. How on earth do I get them out? There is no room between the fire wall and even if I get a spanner or socket on it I can't crack it. Can you get into there from the inside of the car if you pull the carpet up? There is plenty of space in a 100 series but none in the 80. Any ideas?

I used to use heaps of extensions joined together and then use the ratchet. needs to be over a meter long

can you undo the engine mounts and drop the rear of the GB down to gain clearance?

How do you get the 90 angle onto the bolts? I tried to use a half inch socket set with the extensions like you said with one of those funky ball joint knuckle things if you know what I mean and it just didn't fit. Maybe I need to get a much smaller socket set. Can you explain a little bit more how you do it haha

when we did it we used a "wobbly" extension on the socket end and may of dropped the g box cross member down to angle the motor down.. be careful that the fan doesnt grab the fan shroud when u do this tho

When I have done this, I dropped the gear box cross member down about 100-150mm or until the back of the head is touching the fire wall.
(remove the engine fan from its hub first so it doesnt hit the fan shroud)
Use two 750mm extension bars and a uni joint. It is still a challenge to locate the socket on a couple of the bolts, also a PITA figuring out wether to use extensions over or under the gearbox cross member

you can buy meter + long extentions! with a CV joint in the end! Thats all we use to undo bell housing bolts! use a rattle gun, with it being that long alot of force is lost!
