ok new here so hi,

ive done alot of research in the past few months but id like to pick a few peoples brains and see if i get the same answers as i have found so here goes.

well im currently looking at buying a good reliable 4wd on a budget, i have an xr6 turbo with over 300 kw's at the wheels if anyone is interested btw lol .

my criteria was cheapish, reliable, reasonably modern, interior had to be comfortable and finally minimal electrics just a basic 4wd,

After much deliberation its really come down to a mitsubishi challenger, the 2.8L T GU patrol was a looker but i could save alot of money for mods by going for challenger and i love pajeros just the same deal as the GU.

anyway im looking at the 2001-2004 year range and i expect to build it up quite fast,

can anyone crituque or give some tips/money saving ideas to what i have planned, bare in mind i live in the suburbs and work long weeks so getting out into the mud is not a weekly event :(

-2inch lift

-compressor/locker , i am not familiar how good the rear LSD's are front and rear lockers advisable or can i get away with just the front ?

-wheels, probably looking to get the best wheels i can afford/ fit would 32/33's fit?

-Roof top tent , IS IT TRUE THE ROOF IS NOT RATED HAVE A LOAD MORE THEN 50KG?

well thats my plans, obviously its only a starting point, things like bull bars, dual battery systems etc etc are down the track but this is just to get me out there .

thanks in advance and yes i have used the search function,..... alot lol
