Swapping all 12 V car to 24 V

Ok, this is complicated.
Currently in N.Z. and moving back to Aus later this year. I bought my GQ patrol coil cab over with me . Also have a real nice GQ rex hunt special sitting at home in Aus. Now I want to pull my engine & running gear out and bring it back in the container to convert the Rexy... EVERYONE STILL AWAKE Good. Now i'm thinking of buying a wreck at the auctions here and putting it into the coil cab and selling, the are very scarce here and it should go well.
Now do I just carefully work through and swap out all the relays, heater motor and fuse boxes? is the wiring still the same or do I need to get to changing the loom.
I know i'm nuts but i'm poor and I thought this might bring me a few bucks, time is not a problem, appreciate any tips. Nearly all GQs are24V here

the general wiring should be ok
relays fuses ect will be different of course
get hold of a electrical diagram, and check it out
time mite be your best friend ,but could cost u more in the long run

24V to 12V conversion is a PITA. Been the bane of old MQ diesels for years.
Do the drive line and suspension, sure, but unless you can get 12V equivalent parts for the engine (EFI controller, alternator, transducers), then don't bother as the hassle, cost and time spent will outweigh the benefit.
Very Scarce is also something to keep in mind when you have to go looking for spares in future! I've owned rare model cars - it puts more challenge into maintenance than can be fun. Especially if it comes to insurance or changing registration...

Scrapper, you missed my point mate.
I have a complete 12 V truck & a 24 V both GQs what i'm wanting to do is pull all the 12 volt running gear out and bring back to aus. I would be putting all the 24 V in the old 12 V body shell. Including all running gear
I am hoping there are no hidden problems, I thought the loom would be the same and i'd just have to work slowly through swapping everything electrical

In that case, since you have all the bits, I'd say go for it!
From what I have encountered, the bits are interchangeable, though occasionally plugs are different. Since you are changing just the 'mechanical part of the electrical system', I reckon it shouldn't be any harder than doing a 'normal engine swap' (is there such a thing???).
Go for it!

shouldnt really be that hard
slow as she goes, and youll get there
as ive said get yourself a wiring diagram and good voltmeter and u should be right
some stuff on 24v patrols are interchangable with 12 v patrols
not all but some
so not everything will be 24v or 12v
the basic wiring loom should handle both 24 and 12v power running threw it
its really stuff like starters relays injection pumps ect that need to be swapped
im doin a petrol to diesel conversion and are just swapping complete wiring over (abitta work ,but easier to diagnose problems down track)

gudday
Ive done one before the hardest part is getting the bloody tacho to work properly...but i was converting a 24 to 12 with no other truck to steal bits off, so you should be sweet to do a swap over.
ps; you only need to swap the fuel solenoid on the pump not the whole thing, and glow plugs are cheap just get new ones.
good luck
