It has been going downhill since i went 4wding, i have checked all the wiring and cant find any problems there, i have changed the air filter as i thought that might be affecting it, no good. If anyone has any ideas i would appreciate it cheers

i had a simular prob in my old carbd 3f petrol 75 series and it was one of the 3 safety solinoids or shut of gas valves things that was faulty injection might only have 2 or 1 or maybe 3 but check them out
itd be mint driving then mint off road all of a sudden cut out and work again or just not work and make me spew
so if you not sure what to look for ask the gas guys to check them or even just replace them
that was my prob with the gas on and off anyways

I just been through 2 x gas lock valves in a week. The system is only 2000km's old. The guy said he hasn't seen one go in 10 years. :? Mine just won't run on gas.

Will see how it goes now with the 2nd one on there. Hopefully I get more than a half a tank of gas from this one.

Check all the intake hoses between the the converter/mixerthrottle body.
On our old 80 series, whenever you flexed it would idle shit, or even stall completely (we live on a hill, and was always a pain in the butt when reversing the trailer - you would have to rev guts out of it to keep it running) one day i was under there playing around - i pulled on the air filter box, and it stalled. Turned out, it was the the big rubber manifold between the throttle body and air flow meter gear - the rubber had cracked in the flex part underneath - so when on flat ground it sealed enough to have vaccuum, but as soon as you flexed it would suck more air in, reducing the vaccuum to the mixer/converter and stopping gas flow.

My bro had a similar problem in his SS commo - it was running crap, and got to the point where it wouldn't start - the lpg hose between the converter and the mixer (1" or so) had been installed so it rubbed against the edge of a steel bracket, and had cut through. No vaccuum, no go.

i have fixed it but i dont know what i did to fix it, first i started at the tanks, i have 2 that sit just under the side steps, i cleaned every electric connecton and cleaned all the gas lines i follwed them up to the moter checking and double checking everything. It is amazing what you will do when you cant pay someone else to do it lol. i then started with the air filter, replaced it , then removed and cleaned everything and put it all back on making sure to tighten al circlamps. and she fired straight up and i havnt had a problem. i still dont get an accurate reading on the tank level but i never have.

and never will. Mine doesn't even go to the red led before I run out of gas. Have to go by the km's.
