well, seems to be the patrol is not gettin much use, so am thinking of getting out of the sport and heading towards more a road based/beach vehicle.
have seen these pajeros and think they seem great for the money, has anyone on here got one and care to inform me on reliability and fuel economy etc. looking at the 3.5l petrol model in auto.
cheers
nick

You'd probably have more success posting this question in the Mitsubishi section, but we don't have a large number of Gen 3 (NM/NP) Pajeros.
Your best bet would be to head over to the Pajero Club Forum.

Towing a mid size camper trailer (big enough to require trailer brakes) behind ours we would get about 17L/100km.. Also the 3.5 V6 can be a bit underpowered when fully loaded for the hills and such. If you find a turbo diesel over the petrol I would. Much more balanced car. If the pajero club can't help you try the Queensland Mitsubishi 4wd Owners Club.

Personally I would go the turbo diesel motor, they go very well and will use a lot less fuel then the v6. Otherwise I think these are a great vehicle, good alternative to a Prado.

thanks all for the info, i am waiting for a response from the mitsubishi website before i can post.
until then, if anyone else has some info, i currently have a rb30 patrol and tow a small boat which takes its toll on hills etc. so am looking for a bit more power for towing and in general.
am wanting something more road based and comfortable/tourer. and if i get back into the hard 4x4 scene again will buy another GQ then. i dont see the need in having such a big thirsty car for just road and beach work.
so if anyone else some ideas of other vehicles please let me know

Good post thanks. Have much the same problem with an 80 series. Chews the juice especially towing the boat and Missus reckons it is an aircraft carrier LOL. Can't reverse park it. regards

I am curious when you find it under powered? I got a few mates with TDs and i can be next to them on the hwy and pull away like they are standing still and its twice as good on hills.
My camper is 1t all loaded.
Pajero club website is ok, but you need to wait days to be allowed to post. Its not ideal.
