hey all, well as of this morning driving back from a friends place my pajero ng thought it was a great idea to just get rid of the clutch (i donot know i personally thing that it thought it wasnt needed)

none the less this is how it happened.
i was driving along approaching a T intersection, slowed down and much to my surprise after i took it out of 4th changeing to 3rd there were no gears to be found. So i pulled over and turned it off and put it in to gear then started it again but in doing that it was made apparent that it was operating like there was no clutch there at all.

Can anyone shed any light on what the problem might be before i go ripping everything appart to replace the clutch?

Thanks in advance

brand new slave and the master has been tested and is fine. when i put my foot on the pedal it still feels like the clutch is there (but not doin any thing)

would it be the clutch or the preasure plate?

Suggest that you get someone under the car to check if the slave cylinder pushrod actually moves when you push the clutch pedal in. If it does, then something inside has gone. Check if there is any freeplay in the pushrod or the clutch pedal. If it doesn't move, there is your problem. Maybe bleed the clutch.

Are there any grinding or other noises? Can you change gears without the clutch pedal being pushed in? The clutch plate could be stuck on the shaft. The clutch plate could be worn out.

Thanks for the advise.
yesterday i ripped the gearbox out and replaced the clutch and it is safe to say that the clutch was shot. when i pulled it out, 1 of the springs have come out and was jamming it up. all fixed now and works like a dream.

cheers
